Finding Security in God’s Unchanging Love
When trials mount and hopes dim, God’s love can seem distant. Yet His Word anchors us in enduring truths. “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8).
Christ’s sacrifice manifests God’s love. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
The Spirit’s presence shows God’s love. “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever” (John 14:16).
Discipline displays God’s love. “For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth…” (Hebrews 12:6).
God’s promises reveal His love. “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Hebrews 13:5).
“In my Father’s house are many mansions…I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2).
“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).
Though storms arise, these truths stand sure. “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines…” (Hebrews 13:8-9).
On Christ’s love and Word we lean. “For the Lord will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the Lord to make you his people” (1 Samuel 12:22).
The next time emotions blindside you, return to the strong tower of God’s Word. Its unchanging truths remain no matter how unstable things may feel. Here we are reminded of the One who gave all for us, who continues to guide and provide, whose love will never fail. He is our secure anchor now and for all eternity.
